There's no switch to flip. Doz works with Siri as soon as it's installed on iOS 17 or later — the only thing worth walking through is where to find the exact phrases, and the couple of ways to turn one into something even faster than talking.
Step 1: Open the phrase list in Doz
Go to Settings → Siri & Shortcuts inside Doz. This screen is the source of truth for what you can say — every phrase on it is copied directly from what Doz actually registered with Siri, grouped by what it does:
- Ask about your medications — today's schedule, how you're doing, what's running low, when you last took something. Free.
- Update your log by voice — log a dose, skip a dose, log everything due, add stock, stop a medication. Part of Doz Pro.
Each group shows a handful of ways to say the same thing, because people don't all phrase a request the same way.
Step 2: Just say it
No setup step turns this on — say a phrase out loud to Siri, on the Lock Screen, from another app, wherever Siri already works, and Doz answers or acts. Two things matter for it to actually match:
- Include "Doz" in the sentence. "What do I take today in Doz," not "What do I take today." This isn't optional wording — Siri can only route a phrase to Doz if the app's name is in it.
- Use one of the phrases on the guide screen, close to word for word. Siri tolerates ordinary grammar, but a missing word — "my," usually — can be the difference between a match and "I don't understand."

Step 3: Turn a phrase into a shortcut (optional)
If you don't want to talk out loud at all, the same screen has a Shortcuts button at the bottom that opens Apple's Shortcuts app straight to a gallery of Doz's ready-made shortcuts — one for each phrase group above. From there you can add any of them to your Home Screen, the Action Button, or an Automation, with nothing to build yourself.
Once one is added, running it works exactly like saying the phrase, minus the talking. Typing "Doz" into Spotlight search does the same thing without adding anything permanent — it surfaces the same shortcuts for a one-tap run.
What to expect the first few times
A couple of behaviors are normal, not bugs:
- A medication you just added might not be recognized for a few seconds. Doz refreshes what Siri can name right after you save, but it isn't always instant.
- Leaving out a medication name gets you a follow-up question, not a guess. Say "log a dose" with nothing else and Siri asks which one, rather than picking for you.
- Logging, skipping, refilling, or archiving by voice needs Doz Pro. Asking about your schedule, stock, streak, or last dose doesn't.

The short version
