Pick Mounjaro, Zepbound or the Wegovy injection, then enter the date of your first
injection and the maintenance dose your prescriber chose. The tool dates every weekly injection and
shows which dose each one is on, following the standard step-up schedule in the
Mounjaro,
Zepbound and
Wegovy
FDA labels. A second calculator below checks a missed dose against the label rule.
Use exactly as your prescriber tells you. This tool shows the standard label schedule for
planning reminders; it is not medical advice. Follow the leaflet that comes with your
medicine and ask a doctor, nurse or pharmacist about anything specific to you.
The standard step-up, week by week
All three are injected once a week. Each dose step lasts 4 weeks, and the schedule
stops climbing at the maintenance dose your prescriber chose.
| Weeks | Mounjaro or Zepbound (earliest) | Wegovy injection |
| 1 to 4 | 2.5 mg | 0.25 mg |
| 5 to 8 | 5 mg | 0.5 mg |
| 9 to 12 | 7.5 mg | 1 mg |
| 13 to 16 | 10 mg | 1.7 mg |
| 17 to 20 | 12.5 mg | 2.4 mg (recommended) or 1.7 mg |
| 21 onward | 15 mg | 2.4 mg (recommended) or 1.7 mg |
What each label says
| Medicine | Starting dose | Steps | Maintenance and maximum |
| Mounjaro (tirzepatide) | 2.5 mg once weekly | Up 2.5 mg at a time, after at least 4 weeks on the current dose | The dose your prescriber chooses; 15 mg once weekly is the maximum for adults |
| Zepbound (tirzepatide) | 2.5 mg once weekly for 4 weeks; not a maintenance dose | Up 2.5 mg at a time, after at least 4 weeks on the current dose | 5, 10 or 15 mg once weekly; 15 mg is the maximum |
| Wegovy injection (semaglutide) | 0.25 mg once weekly, weeks 1 to 4 | 0.5 mg in weeks 5 to 8, 1 mg in weeks 9 to 12, 1.7 mg in weeks 13 to 16 | From week 17: 2.4 mg (recommended) or 1.7 mg once weekly |
How the dates are worked out
Every injection is 7 days after the one before, so they all fall on the same weekday as
your first. Week 5 is 28 days after the first injection, week 9 is 56 days after, and so
on. The tool counts calendar days, so month ends, year ends and clock changes do not
move an injection to a different day.
For Mounjaro and Zepbound the labels say to step up only after at least 4 weeks on the
current dose. Each step date in the table is therefore the earliest it can come, and
your prescriber may keep you on a dose for longer. For the Wegovy injection the dates
follow Table 1 of the label, which also lets your prescriber delay a step by 4 weeks if
a dose is hard to tolerate.
If you miss a dose
| Medicine | Take it as soon as possible if | Skip it if | Afterwards |
| Mounjaro or Zepbound | No more than 4 days (96 hours) have passed since the missed dose | More than 4 days (96 hours) have passed | Go back to your regular weekly day. The day can be changed only if there are at least 3 days (72 hours) between two doses. |
| Wegovy injection | Your next scheduled dose is more than 2 days (48 hours) away | Your next scheduled dose is less than 2 days (48 hours) away | Resume on your regular day. If you miss 2 or more doses in a row, contact your prescriber. |
The Wegovy label does not say what to do when the next dose is exactly 48 hours away.
The missed-dose calculator treats that moment as a skip and tells you to check with
your pharmacist. It also stops at one missed dose: once the next scheduled dose has come
round, it tells you to contact your prescriber.

What this cannot do
Use exactly as your prescriber tells you. This tool shows the standard label schedule for
planning reminders; it is not medical advice. It does not choose a dose, and it does not
know whether your prescriber has kept you on a dose for longer. It covers Mounjaro,
Zepbound and the Wegovy injection only, not Ozempic, Wegovy tablets or any other
medicine. Follow the leaflet that comes with your medicine and ask a doctor, nurse or
pharmacist if anything is unclear.
Setting the reminders
Doz is a free iPhone medication reminder. It
reminds you at each dose time and you log the dose once you have taken it. With Doz Pro,
a follow-up nudge arrives 5 to 60 minutes later if the dose stays unlogged, and you can
log a dose by voice with Siri. There is no account to create. For other schedules, the
dosing calendar prints a month of doses to tick off,
and the medication cycle calculator
dates on-off patterns.
Common questions
What is the Mounjaro dose schedule?
Mounjaro starts at 2.5 mg once a week. The label says to increase the dose in 2.5 mg steps after at least 4 weeks on the current dose, up to a maximum of 15 mg once a week for adults. So 5 mg comes in week 5 at the earliest, 7.5 mg in week 9, 10 mg in week 13, 12.5 mg in week 17 and 15 mg in week 21. Your prescriber decides where you stop.
What is the Zepbound dose schedule?
Zepbound starts at 2.5 mg once a week for 4 weeks, which is a starting dose only. Then the dose goes up in 2.5 mg steps after at least 4 weeks on each dose until the maintenance dose your prescriber chose: 5, 10 or 15 mg once a week. 15 mg is the maximum.
What is the Wegovy dose schedule?
The Wegovy injection label (Table 1) steps up every 4 weeks: 0.25 mg in weeks 1 to 4, 0.5 mg in weeks 5 to 8, 1 mg in weeks 9 to 12 and 1.7 mg in weeks 13 to 16. From week 17 the maintenance dose is 2.4 mg (recommended) or 1.7 mg once a week.
What if I miss a Mounjaro or Zepbound dose?
The labels say to take it as soon as possible if no more than 4 days (96 hours) have passed since the missed dose. If more than 4 days have passed, skip it and take the next dose on your regular day. Either way, then go back to your regular weekly schedule.
What if I miss a Wegovy dose?
If your next scheduled dose is more than 2 days (48 hours) away, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is less than 2 days away, skip it and take the next dose on your regular day. If you miss 2 or more doses in a row, contact your prescriber.
Can I change the day of my weekly injection?
The Mounjaro and Zepbound labels allow it if there are at least 3 days (72 hours) between two doses. The Wegovy Medication Guide allows it if your last dose was 2 or more days before. Ask your prescriber or pharmacist before you change it.
Does this calculator work for Ozempic?
No. It covers Mounjaro, Zepbound and the Wegovy injection only, following their FDA labels. Ozempic has its own label; follow your leaflet and ask your prescriber.
One thing this cannot do
This is an arithmetic tool, not medical advice. It works out numbers from what you type
in — it does not know your medication, your prescription, or what you should do
if something goes wrong. Anything about changing a dose, spacing doses differently, or
handling a missed dose is a question for your doctor or pharmacist.
